Profile: BIOGRAPHY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ With foundations firmly laid as one of house music's rising talents, DJ and Vocalist Kelly Sylvia - better known as Kellilicious - has been cited amongst her industry peers in as a one-woman force to watch out for. From co-founding SHEJAY - the worlds first and largest collective and first platform for promoting female DJs - to hosting a popular weekly radio show on the UK's number one house music station UNKNOWN FM for 2 years, to DJing at London's top venues and DJing around the world, Kellilicious has made a big impression on the house music scene since leaving her native Boston for the greener music pastures of the UK in 2000. Her DJing skills have secured her a top spot in the UK clubbing circuit at popular venues such as Fabric, the Egg, Turnmills, SEONE, the Whitehouse, Emporium, and Ministry of Sound; and have allowed her to apply her trade on 4 different continents - Asia, Africa, Europe & North America : more specifically in the world's greatest clubbing capitals including her adopted home of London, Paris, Ibiza, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and San Francisco. She has also spread her sound to the furthest corners of the globe like the Far East and Siberia , and has had the honour of DJing in countries with a young, flourishing club scene such as the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Morocco, and Croatia. Kellilicious is best known for her stylish and refined selection of deep, sexy and soul driven house which she sites as coming from a hybrid of influences and experiences: from growing up as a club kid in the early 90s on New York house - with the likes of Kerri Chandler, Todd Terry, and Masters at Work - to exploring her younger love affair with the west coast sound a la Chris Lum, Miguel Migs, Jay-J; and embracing bits of the UK sound from producers such as Joey Negro and Full Intention when she made London her home in 2000. Fusing all of these influences together, Kellilicious has nailed down a sound that listeners know as uniquely hers. As a radio DJ, Kellilicious is a regular on some of the top house music stations both .. and on the airwaves - including SSRadio UK , Digitally Imported FM , Planet Soul Network and for two years, hosted her popular Weekend Teaser show every Friday on UNKNOWN FM every Friday from 12-2pm. She has also appeared as a guest on London 's House FM and BBC 1xtra's Soulful Sessions with Aaron Ross and was hand picked by design house GIVENCHY to be the official DJ for LIV TYLER'S fragrance launch party in London last year.. Kelly has been featured in various notable publications including : Bust Magazine , DJ Mag , RWD Mag , Ministry of Sound Lifestyle , and Time Out London to name a few. This year sees Kelly continuing to spread her unique house sound around the globe, getting her hands dirty in the studio both with vocal work and her own productions and of course, furthering her pioneering work with Shejay in support of female DJs everywhere.
