Swagger is a London DJ, who has been in the business of music for the last 15 years. Starting out as a young DJ / promoter in the early 90’s the Londoner moved to the north of England where he set up his first seminal night “Chasing Rainbows” named after the Tony Di Bart song it was a club which encapsulated the house scene at the time. Young residents Kev and Martin made fame for themselves soon after – Kev releasing Happy Clappers – I Believe and Martin releasing Kendoh – Nagasaki – both tracks were created and debuted at this Sunderland night. Swagger made a name for himself as a promoter first and foremost, but soon moved back to London where he set up a music promotions company. Over the years he worked with many artists including Dirty Vegas, Shaun Escoffery (he put “Days Like This“ into Kenny Dope’s hands!), Eric Prydz, DJ Spen, Basement Boys, Lasgo, Trisco and Spiller. He was also pivotal in the building up and the continued success of labels such as Credence, CR2, Oyster and 20/20 Vision, and worked heavily with EMI, Sony and Virgin’s major label dance output. In the last few years he tired of promotion and went back to his original love which was DJing, and now plays in various London locations including Dex, Brixton and Notting Hill Arts Club. Truly a lover of all kinds of music, with eclectic tastes he places soul, jazz and funk at the heart of all his sets.
