Welcome to issue 9. OK, so we're a day late this week! Things have been manic here at SSR HQ in preparation for Chicago, so we're going to keep it short and sweet... This week we have a little promo video for our Chicago events to show you, let you know about some exclusive new shows starting in the coming weeks, and take five with Anthony Payne. Right, let's get to it!

With our Chicago events just two weeks away now, we've put together a little promo video to get you warmed up for these un-missable parties...

We are pleased to be welcoming the following DJs to the station:

Paul Welford brings you the Intoxication show on the Hard & Fast channel, every-other Tuesday at 20:00 UK time from 4th August 2009.

Holly Bee starts her Delice De Phunk show on the Tuff & Twisted channel, every-other Friday at 13:00 UK time from 8th August 2009.

With a growing list of experiences whilst DJing across the UK and abroad, Anthony Payne is a DJ whose stock is rising at a considerable rate. With three shows now under his belt since joining SSRadio last month, and already consistently high listening figures, we caught up with Anthony to find out a bit more about his musical tastes...

1. Describe the music you play?

   I play a blend of soulful, deep and jackin' house with a few surprises along the way.

2. Who are your inspirations, ie. musicians/producers etc?

   My favourite labels include the likes of Papa Records, Gogo Music, Strictly Rhythm, Code Red, King Street, Purple Music, Vega Records & Dope Wax whilst my favourite male and female vocalists are Peven Everett & Rachel Claudio respectively.

3. What are your current top 3 tracks?
   1. Peven Everett – Heat Up (Awaaz Club Edit) – Bombay
   2. Michel Cleis Feat. Toto La Mom – La Mezcla (Original Mix) – Strictly Rhythm
   3. Soul Dhamma Feat. Donni – If We Could Fly (Soul Dhamma Original) – King Street
4. What is your most memorable set or DJ moment?

   Playing on a boat filled with over 2,200 clubbers, playing for Soul Heaven in 2008 and meeting the legendary Louie Vega.

5. Tell us something we don't know about Anthony Payne?

   I have a custom-made, hand painted tea pot.
